While the bezerkers are tough, they aren't really that hard to defeat. The players will need to make use of their sheilds and the parry rules for blocking attacks. That's the main edge, as I don't think any of the bezerkers employ sheilds and are too crazed to think about blocking attacks.

Hey Oscar!
I just finished reading through Ravenar and am looking forward to eventually running it.
Very nice use of non-standard mythos creatures!
I like the whole epic feel of the book as a whole.
Great job! (I only found a few typos).
(of course rereading my monographs after they had been printed made me cringe in a few places.) _________________ Jason Williams

Cool an answer from the author, nice one matey.
We will find out tonight as I am going to run the second part.
I think I may have 8 players arrrgghhh, just going to increase like for like, not sure whether to have 2 Gnoph-Keh though!!!
Also I take it there isn't really any chance of you know what being summoned as it would end the game rather prematurely!!!
I've run this maybe 5 times, I never manage to roll low enough for Big "I" to show up. Oh, but one day I will, and won't that be oh so wonderful? Good luck tonight Lisko, maybe your time has come.
With 8 players I think you can go with 2. You might want to make each one a tad weaker. Although tough on paper six players can usually take one down without serious injury (It usually nearly kills 1-2 players before they down it).
Just manage to squeeze it all in and all in all a very satisfying session, only had 5 players so worked out well.
I am afraid Lisko failed again and the group nearly killed him instead of taking him back. They struggled a bit to get their heads round they needed him for evidence and once they gave there oath they couldn't break it!!!
They also have played normal Cthulhu to much as they are so paranoid, the guy playing Magnor thought Svengar had made a pact with something as he had been far to successful rebuilding the village.
Had some good fights, but some timely dodges and some annoyingly tough shields and they survived. Two nearly died at the end, but scrapped through, that bloody two handed axe man tips the edge, especially when he crits!!
Finished the Saga last night, the first two parts can be squeezed into a single session. The last one is definitely two sessions.
On the whole very good, some very tough fights but the group did really well till the end. When the smoke cleared (literally), 3 of the crew had been killed. I thought they may be upset by being killed by gas, but they took it pretty well. The remaining 3 returned and decided not to accept the offer as they didn't trust the lad. So Svengar returned on his shield.
My only negative points from the session, was I had to rush the end so I didn't feel it was as heartfelt as it should have been. Also sometimes it felt it was just going from fight, to fight, to fight, but none of my players complained.
Everyone enjoyed it; my only problem being is they want to do another one with the crew.
I love the way you have added the additional details to use in the Classic period and the thought of undead Vikings just keeps popping into my head.
The Ravenar saga was my introduction to your work and I have been a fan ever since. The Ravenar saga has a bit of everything ranging from Vikings, good story, role playing, hack & slash, investigation and Vikings.
Did I mentioned Vikings also.
Unfortunately, my players were not able to complete the saga due to TPK.
For the 1st part, they only lost 1 pc. The pcs did not fall for the waking up the sleeper gig and left that room quickly. They were not aware that they had a chance with the giggling monster and had 1 pc lure the the monster pass the room with 7 passages. The other members hid in the other 6 passages and ran out of the cave after the monster chased the pc bait.
The pcs waited on the boat for that one pc but he never show up and so decided to sail back thus ending the 1st part.
In the Second Saga, everything went well until the part where they met the Gnoph-Keh. Half of the pc went temporary insane and the other half were not able to handle the Gnoph-Keh. My pcs complained that there were too many sanity test leading up to that encounter (blizzard, seeing the snow sculture and finally seeing the Gnoph-Keh).
Overall with the exception of the Gnoph-Keh part, my players really enjoyed the scenario.
So are there any chances of a Ravenar Sage part 2?
I would definitely spend good money for it.
