Ratings

MPAA Ratings

  • Rated: (not rated)

The rather literal portrayal of the witch's seduction of our doomed protagonist seems to make some viewers uncomfortable, and the (just off-screen) violence toward an infant sacrifice might be a little too intense for younger viewers; over all, the video could be considered roughly a "PG".

Tentacle Ratings

A rough measure of how "Lovecraftian" the work is:

  • SSSs_ (Three and a Half Tentacles: a partial but generally faithful Lovecraft adaptation)

A rock-opera music video produced in cooperation with the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society using their imitation of early horror films, this seems to be a fairly faithful music video adaptation of scenes from the Lovecraft story "Dreams in the Witch-House (fiction)".

Note: This rating is not intended as a measure of quality, merely of how closely related to Lovecraftian "Weird" fiction the work is.

  • Y.Whateley: A rock-opera music video produced in cooperation with the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society using their typical high-quality imitation of early horror films, this seems to be a fairly faithful music video adaptation of scenes from the Lovecraft story "Dreams in the Witch-House (fiction)"; at least, it is as faithful as can be expected within the constraints of all the limitations and stylistic approaches that come with the territory of rock opera music videos. The style of music may not be to everyone's taste, but the video is fairly well-done.

Synopsis

The witch Keziah Mason seduces an unsuspecting young physics student into a pact with Nyarlathotep in exchange for a deeper understanding of the mathematical principals of magic; now, there's no turning back....
