Ratings

MPAA Ratings

  • Rated: R (Violence, Profanity, Adult Content, Nudity, Sexual Situations)

Tentacle Ratings

A rough measure of how "Lovecraftian" the work is:

  • S____ (One Tentacle: Debateably Lovecraftian; has almost no direct connection to Lovecraft's work)

Not particularly "Lovecraftian", though there may be some vague similarities in premise to "From Beyond (fiction)"; some tentacle-monster-things might appear in the film, and this film was probably a template for period war films (and horror films involving hospitals) categorized here under "Eldritch Location", in the sense of a war vet coming home and finding himself an alien in his own country, with his attempts to dig deeper into his past and his own mind leading up to bizarre hallucinations and blurred lines between nightmare and reality.

Note: This rating is not intended as a measure of quality, merely of how closely related to Lovecraftian "Weird" fiction the work is.
