Tentacle Ratings

A rough measure of how "Lovecraftian" the work is:

  • S____ (One Tentacle: Debateably Lovecraftian; has almost no direct connection to Lovecraft's work)

Rural hick cultists seek a book of great occult power and summon a goat-man... it is, perhaps, a bit like "The Dunwich Horror (fiction)" as retold in a fever....

Note: This rating is not intended as a measure of quality, merely of how closely related to Lovecraftian "Weird" fiction the work is.

Comments, Trivia, Dedication

  • Peter Cushing and Joseph Cotton were asked to play Dr. Richards, and Vincent Price was originally supposed to play the role of sorcerer Johnathan Corbis (Ernest Borgnine). The shooting of the film was plagued by eerie events and accidents; because of this Ernest Borgnine vowed to never work on a project with this subject matter again.
