- Y.Whateley: This was perhaps my favorite adaptation of "The Outsider", presented as an expressionistic, experimental, black-and-white silent film with title cards quoting from Lovecraft's story scrawled in creepy handwriting, between scenes of the title character slowly and silently creeping through tunnels, stairways, and dungeons - the film is extremely atmospheric and eerie (I'm really not sure quite how the trick photography used to shoot bits of this film were done), and captures the bleak alienation of Lovecraft's story perfectly.
