Biography
Tom Sullivan, born March 10, 1954 in Marshall, Michigan, United States. Illustrator
Tom Sullivan's began drawing and sculpting monsters from the age of 5 upon viewing the original King Kong movie and took his art seriously at age 12. In 1978 he did the special effects for Sam Raimi's short horror film Within the Woods and went on to work on Raimi's Evil Dead trilogy. Moving to San Francisco, he met Lynn Willis there in 1982 and began working for Chaosium, producing cover paintings and interior illustrations for their Call of Cthulhu role-playing game, commencing with Shadows of Yog-Sothoth and notably illustrating the full-color S. Petersen's Field Guide to Cthulhu Monsters.
Comments / Trivia
• Sullivan created the prop versions of the Evil Dead's Necronomicon Ex-Mortis and sculpted the latex replica cover of it for Anchor Bay's The Evil Dead 2002 "Book of the Dead" DVD edition.
• Sullivan appeared in the role of Dr. Boorstin in the 2007 film The Dread and as Dr. Corrigan in 2006's The Absence of Light.
