Ratings

MPAA Ratings

  • Rated: not rated (probably equivalent to PG-13 or R for Violence, Profanity, Adult Content, etc.)

I've not seen this movie, but Violence, body horror, gore, and Profanity are par for the course in this subgenre in this era (2000s-2010s).

Tentacle Ratings

A rough measure of how "Lovecraftian" the work is:

  • S____ (One Tentacle: Debateably Lovecraftian; has almost no direct connection to Lovecraft's work)

By the description, this sounds like it's probably not especially Lovecraftian, but may fit the "weird world war" settings made for the Call of Cthulhu RPG in spirit and content.

Note: This rating is not intended as a measure of quality, merely of how closely related to Lovecraftian "Weird" fiction the work is.

Notes

Comments, Trivia, Dedication

  • One of the sergeants carries a Model 17 Trench Gun, a pump-action shotgun, a weapon despised and feared by the Germans, who considered them "inhumane"; this character is the only soldier with one, adequately showing his brutal disposition.

Associated Mythos Elements

  • race: Zombies
  • race: parasitic mind-control worms
